Short Sighted Cinema CIC is now open for submissions for the THE SHORTEST NIGHTS 2017. An annual collection of cutting-edge programmes celebrating the best in British short filmmaking.
Inspired by the longest day of the year, THE SHORTEST NIGHTS takes place over an entire Sunday showcasing new programmes of short-form films alongside industry networking. Each year sees organically curated themes featuring everything from drama to animation, music video to documentary, from both award-winning filmmakers to first-timers.
Films for this collection must have been created within the last 2 years by filmmakers living, working or studying in the UK, inclusive of British Filmmakers working overseas.

“One of our favourite festivals in the calendar! Supportive, passionate and run by two of the nicest people in the industry who certainly know their stuff. You will not find better value, nor a better environment to screen you films :)” – Paul Holbrook, 2017
“I can’t speak highly enough of the passion, professionalism and warmth of this festival and it’s hosts. If you only ever enter your short in one festival, while that wouldn’t be a smart strategy, this is the one to go for.” – Andrew Flemming, 2017
“A wonderful festival set in the creative hub of East London. Clever genre-named categories, great communication by the organisers, a friendly vibe and and an excellent mix of short films to watch – something for everyone.” – Andrew Ionides, 2017
